A purpose-built lockable media base is providing a useful addition to the activity room at Sevenacres’ Osborne Ward. Purchased by the Friends for £806, the unit gives access to games machines, DVD player, and other electrical equipment. Ward Sister Louise Hayden said that by acquiring the base they were responding to guidance that patients appreciated an environment that is warmer and with a more therapeutic feel. “We know that people in such an environment benefit from regular activity, leading to them having a positive sense of worth and general wellbeing.”
