New Fluid Warmer Ready for Emergency Patients

A compact fluid warming cabinet, purchased by the Friends, is proving to be a much-appreciated addition to the equipment in the Emergency Department. The cabinet cost the Friends £4,482. “It replaces one that was so old that it was condemned,” said the department’s secretary, Rosie Jenkins. “The new cabinet, which is kept to 40 degrees centigrade, warms fluids such as saline. “An elderly patient who is admitted could be very cold and it is very helpful if the fluids administered are warm enough. Children also benefit.” Added Rosie: “It is brilliant – I love the Friends
