Something Fishy Bubbles Up for Young Outpatients

When the Rotary Club of Sandown made a £500 donation to the Friends it was decided it should be specifically meet a request for a calming bubble tube in the Children’s Outpatients waiting room. The tube is filled with distilled water and toy fishes which, together with bubbles, are constantly on the move. To further fascinate youngsters, the LED lighting regularly changes colour. The £500 paid for the tube, plus regular water replacements over the first year of the water. Expressing her appreciation to the Rotarians and the Friends, Staff Nurse Jackie Smith said, “The bubbles are intended to relax children when attending appointments. It is so wonderful for them, especially those with special needs.”
