Seven Trolleys for Seven Rooms

Pictured: Sister Lesley-Anne Moody (left) with Friends volunteer Sylvia Thorne. Nurses in the hospital’s Pre-Assessment and Admissions Unit (PAAU) no longer have to share phlebotomy trolleys. The unit assesses would be patients’ fitness for surgery and/or anesthetic. As a result of the Friends agreeing to provide £3,122, each of the unit’s seven rooms now has its own brand new slimline phlebotomy trolley containing everything needed to take blood samples and carry out other tests. “We previously had only three rather inadequate trolleys which had to be shared around,” said Sister Lesley-Anne Moody. “Now nurses in every room can access everything there and then.” .
