Midwives Now better Able to Listen with Mother - Thanks to the Friends

The latest specialist equipment for midwives to listen to the heart-beat of babies still in the womb is now available to midwives, thanks to the Friends. Twelve dopplers, costing a total of £5,658, are being used in either the hospital or homes of mothers-to-be. “They are much appreciated replacements to the older and fewer dopplers we had,” explained Deputy Head of Midwifery, Amanda Pearson. “To have the latest pieces equipment, and in sufficient numbers, has made a huge difference.” Pictured with one of the dopplers are midwives Daisy Furmidge (left) and Amy Sturbridge
